Hey, remember when Netflix launched Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp last year, and it was great enough to end up on one of our year-end top-ten lists? And then remember how we heard a second season of the show had been ordered, and then got all caught up in everything else that's been going on and completely forgot that was a thing we should be looking forward to?
Me, too! So let the following news from Deadline serve as a gentle reminder:
Alyssa Milano ... has signed on to play a regular role in Season 2 of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later for Netflix.
They are keeping Milano’s Wet Hot American Summer character under wraps for the moment, but among those who’ll be returning from last season are Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Michael Ian Black, Janeane Garofalo, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Lake Bell, Michael Showalter, Christopher Meloni, A.D Milles, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, and Josh Charles.
So, first of all, hooray for Alyssa Milano joining Wet Hot American Summer! That feels like it'll be a good fit. And secondly, hooray for being reminded that more Wet Hot American Summer is en route. I like this Ten Years Later approach they're taking with the series, but I admit to being somewhat bummed that they didn't really lean into the ridiculousness of it and set season two ten years prior to season one.
Right now there's no timeline to report on when Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later may go in front of cameras, much less when it'll hit Netflix, but you can rest assured we'll keep you up informed as updates roll in.
