Starting just from its excruciating title, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (I wish they’d just gone all the way and called it Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in HFR) has a long halftime journey ahead of it. It stars a newcomer. It confusingly appears to be about both war and some football game. And its new trailer is filled with blurbs about how it is revolutionary despite not getting across why that might be the case.
Will people who buy a ticket for this be angered that they went to a HFR movie without knowing it? Will they even notice? Will they be bummed to discover Vin Diesel only plays a supporting character? We don’t have much longer to find the answers to these questions as the film comes out November 11.
In the meantime, I highly recommend you check out our review of the film. And in the halftime, I highly recommend you take a long walk.
