There has been talk for a while about a fifth Rambo movie. Some of the ideas were good, some where boring and some where just flat-out nuts. All of them would have been better than this.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nu Image/Millennium Films is getting a new Rambo together, one that does not star Sylvester Stallone. One that will be written by Brooks McLaren and directed by Criminal’s Ariel Vromen. One that will “look at Rambo as a character akin to James Bond”.
Hopefully all they mean by that is the idea that you can just recast the guy whenever the feeling arises. I would hate to assume that they see John Rambo as a globetrotting epitome of class with a penchant for one-liners. He’s a broken Frankenstein monster who probably shouldn’t be anywhere near normal society. My man can barely speak!
In any case, the reboot will be called (of course) Rambo: New Blood. If you were looking for some kind of excuse to drink more than normal tonight, this should suffice.
