Did you think for one second that, with MondoCon wrapped, and with Comic Cons New York and San Diego in our rearview, you were done seeing awesome new prints unveiled on Birth.Movies.Death? Think again. Across the Atlantic, the good folks at Black Dragon Press are gearing up for the Thought Bubble Comic Arts Festival in Leeds, and they're bringing with them this amazing print by BMD favorite Nicolas Delort, celebrating HG Wells' sci-fi classic, The War of the Worlds. Let's take a closer look.
The War of the Worlds (Screenprint)
18" x 24" screen print
270gsm Mohawk Superfine White paper
Signed by the artist, hand numbered, gallery stamp on reverse
Printed by White Duck Screenprint
Limited edition of 50
The War of the Worlds (Laser-etch)
14”x18” laser etch on Ampersand Scratchbord
Numbered, gallery stamp on reverse
Etched by Laser/Make
Limited edition of 12
Includes laser-cut stand
You'll note the laser-etched edition does not have the title treatment. Cooler still: each etching purchased enters the buyer into a draw to win a 5”x5” bespoke original etch from Nicolas. One winner will be picked at random once the edition is sold out.
The War of The Worlds will be available this weekend at Thought Bubble (along with a few other choice selections from the Black Dragon Press flat file). Leftovers, if any, will go on sale Wednesday 09 November at 7pm UK time from Black Dragon Press' website.
