Check Out The First Trailer For Netflix’s Mysterious New Original Series, THE OA

No idea what's going on here, but it certainly looks interesting.

If you've seen The Sound Of My Voice and/or The East, then you're probably already familiar with the names Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. If not, you're about to be, thanks to The OA, a mysterious new sci-fi series hitting Netflix this Friday.

The first trailer for the show just arrived, and it's ... well, it's intriguing, alright.

Check it out.

I've watched this trailer a few times and, quite frankly, still have no idea what story The OA plans on telling us, but - speaking as a fan of Marling's previous work, particularly in The Sound Of My Voice and Another Earth - I cannot wait to find out.

Here's the official description, which also doesn't tell us much:

From Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the visionary filmmakers behind Sound of My Voice and The East, comes a powerful, mind-bending tale about identity, human connection and the borders between life and death. The Netflix original series The OA is an odyssey in eight chapters produced in partnership with Plan B Entertainment, Netflix and Anonymous Content. The groundbreaking series offers audiences a singular experience that upends notions about what long-format stories can be.

Yep, I'm in. No further information needed. All involved have earned my trust, that trailer's just the right amount of creepy, and Netflix has proven itself talented when it comes to bankrolling genre efforts (Hello, I'm the BMD staffer who enjoyed Stranger Things). Looks like I do have plans this weekend.

What do you guys think? Into this, not so much, what? Sound off below.
