I would be more than happy just to deliver the news that Nacho Vigalondo’s Colossal, my favorite film of last year’s Fantastic Fest, now has an American release date. April 7. Be there. You’re going to love it.
But that’s only part of this new item. The other is Neon, a new distribution company controlled by RADiUS’ Tom Quinn and Alamo Drafthouse’s very own Tim League! They are starting off with Colossal, a phenomenal opener, but they are also hitting Sundance next week for more. If the Drafthouse Films library is any indications, Neon films will all have something exciting and unique about them.
As for Colossal, it’s just great. I can’t wait for it to come out so we can all start talking about it more. As a fan of giant monster films, I could not have been more pleased with all the amazing touches Nacho brings to the subgenre. Start getting excited!
