Netflix’s Mysterious New Sci-Fi Film THE DISCOVERY Looks Outstanding

You need to see this trailer.

The first trailer for Netflix's The Discovery has arrived, and oh man, does this movie look great.

Directed by Charlie McDowell (The One I Love) and starring a murderer's row of performers - including Robert Redford, Rooney Mara, Jason Segel, Jesse Plemmons and Riley Keough - the film imagines a world where the afterlife has been proven to exist ... and people keep killing themselves to get there.

Maybe this sort of trailer isn't your cup of tea, but it's definitely in my wheelhouse. I know precisely as much as I need to in order to be into it: the premise is strong, the cast is great, and what's here looks haunting and more than a little freaky. I'm also granting this one bonus points for reminding me of the 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer with that slowed-down version of Roy Orbison's "Only The Lonely". Very effective.

The Discovery will premiere at Sundance this week, and can be seen by the rest of us when it hits Netflix on March 31st. How are you guys feeling about this? Dig the trailer as much as we do?
