New Movie From THE GREASY STRANGLER’s Jim Hosking Sounds Amazing
Jim Hosking's The Greasy Strangler was one of the strangest, grossest, most singular cinematic experiences of 2016, so of course we've all been eagerly awaiting news on what his follow-up might be.
Today, we found out: Hosking's next film is An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn, starring Aubrey Plaza, Craig Robinson, Emile Hirsch, Jemaine Clement and the great Matt Berry (this is your regular reminder to seek out Garth Marenghi's Darkplace as soon as humanly possible).
Here's how The Hollywood Reporter's describing the film:
The story follows Lulu Danger, whose unsatisfying marriage takes a fortunate turn for the worse when a mysterious man from her past comes to town to perform a mysterious event called An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn; For One Magical Night Only.
Hoskings. That cast. That logline. This thing's probably going to be nuts, and we cannot wait for it. Right now, there's no word on when shooting will begin, much less any word on a release date, but the project's been funded (by the BFI via the National Lottery, no less) and is currently looking for international buyers. As always, we'll keep you informed as the updates roll in.
Your homework for this post: see The Greasy Strangler, and definitely see Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. The whole thing.
