Joe Manganiello And Marley Shelton Might Go On A RAMPAGE

What a time it is to be a giant monster fan. After years of false starts, we’re finally up to our skyscrapers in kaiju. Godzilla. Pacific Rim. Skull Island. Colossal. More giant monsters than you can shake a Cloverfield at.

We’re so on board the kaiju bus that they’re adapting Rampage, for Pete’s sake. And this is shaping up to be the most attractive cast of kaiju fodder yet: Naomie Harris is already on board as a geneticist, and Dwayne Johnson is signed on as the animal-loving lead. Today THR tells us that Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike) is in talks to play a military commando type, and Marley Shelton (Planet Terror) will play an astronaut. As my friend Derek would say, this cast is really, really ridiculously good-looking.

Rampage is an old-ass video game about a giant reptile, a giant gorilla (*coughlawsuitcough*) and a giant wolf (...) wreaking havoc on a cityscape. The film will be directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas) and will somehow be in theaters April 20th of next year. Break a leg, gang!
