Latest GHOST IN THE SHELL Trailer Contains A Ton Of New Footage

Yup, this movie still looks really cool.

At this point, we've gone through a number of Ghost In The Shell teasers and trailers, and - for the most part - the majority of 'em have been variations on the same 90 seconds' worth of footage, with maybe a few new shots sprinkled in.

Today's Ghost In The Shell trailer finally breaks that mold: there's a ton of new footage threaded throughout this thing, and we even meet some new characters (hello, Michael Pitt!). See what you guys think.

Yup, definitely still onboard with this. I love the production design, I love the weird affect Pitt's bringing to his character, I love how colorful everything is, and lord knows I will never get tired of watching ScarJo kick ass.

And if you're wondering: no, I still haven't watched the original. At this point I think I'll wait to do that until I've seen Rupert Sanders' live-action take. I mean, why not? If nothing else, I think doing so will allow me to give the remake a fair shake.

Here's the official plot synopsis, for those not in the know:

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, GHOST IN THE SHELL follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

The very cool-looking Ghost In The Shell opens March 31st. We are there for it.
