James Cromwell Joins The JURASSIC WORLD Sequel

In which the former BABE co-star classes up a sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, beloved character actor and all-around badass James Cromwell has officially joined the cast of Jurassic World 2, or whatever they end up calling it. Cromwell joins returning Jurassic World cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, along with franchise newcomers Toby Jones and Justice Smith.

No word on who Cromwell might be playing, but it's probably safe to assume he'll be playing a scientist of some sort, or a wise doctor with a gentle laugh. Maybe he'll be a mentor to another character in addition to one of those things. Perhaps he'll be a kindly farmer living on whatever godforsaken island Jurassic World 2 takes place on, or a no-nonsense professor who's brought in to provide key information to the lead actors during a second act exposition dump.

Other likely characters include: a benevolent librarian, a greedy CEO, a hard-edged CIA muckety-muck, a geneticist who is either for or against the exploitation of DNA in the name of building an elaborate and wildly dangerous theme park, a seen-it-all archaeologist who walks with the aid of a cane, a mathemetician who only appears in scenes where a gigantic white board filled with calculations is featured in the background, or a retired adult film star just looking to find his way in the world. We are confident Cromwell will be playing one of these characters, we just don't know which.

For now, we wait. Jurassic World 2 arrives on June 22nd, 2018.

It will also have dinosaurs in it.
