Hugh Jackman Really Wants Wolverine To Join The Avengers
In a new interview with ScreenRant, Hugh Jackman admits he probably would've kept playing Wolverine had he had the option to join the MCU.
Here's the exact exchange:
In a perfect world, film rights aside, if you were offered the chance to be in an Avengers movie, would you be on for that? Would you be excited for it?
If that was on the table when I made my decision, it certainly would have made me pause. That’s for sure. Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there’s a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out (laughter). You never know.
This is a fun thing to daydream about, but it also strikes me as the very definition of non-news: of course Jackman would be interested in hopping aboard the MCU train. Whereas Fox's X-Men series has offered Jackman the chance to bounce off the same characters over and over again, bringing him into the MCU fold would open up all kinds of fun, new possibilities. Also worth noting: the X-Men movies aren't that great? And the MCU movies kind of are great?
Why wouldn't he want to do this?
One wants to say "It'll never, ever happen", but there was also a time when we felt that way about Spider-Man coming to the MCU, and now we're just a few months away from Spider-Man: Homecoming arriving in theaters. So Jackman's right - ya never really know.
Logan arrives in theaters on March 3rd. If you don't already have tickets you are making poor life choices.
