Patrick Stewart Possibly Not Quite As Done Playing Professor X As He Said He Was

After saying just last week that he was officially done playing Professor Charles Xavier forever, Sir Patrick Stewart is now saying that, well, maybe not so much. 

In a Facebook Live event put together by MTV News, Stewart said (as quoted by The Playlist):

“I would have said yes (to retiring), but the discussion just now about Deadpool makes me think, ‘Well, maybe there is a proper justification for the revival of Charles Xavier.’ ”

Y'know what? Sir Patrick Stewart can do whatever the hell he wants to do. He's got the right to change his mind just like anyone else, and if he wants to continue playing Professor X until they literally have to drag him out of that wheelchair, so be it. The man is a goddamn icon. 

And besides, who among us could begrudge him wanting to get involved with the Deadpool franchise, which must seem like a trip to Disneyland after toiling away for nearly two decades in the Bryan Singer mines? Let him have this.

No word on whether or not anything'll come of this, but we'll keep our ear to the ground for updates. In the meantime, me, you and everyone we know will be out watching Logan this weekend.
