And here's Death Waltz Records' Spencer Hickman with some notes on the release. You can tell he's excited about this one:
Oh man, I can’t rave enough about this. RAW is without a doubt one of the most audacious debut films I’ve ever seen. It’s visually stunning, unnerving, beautifully violent, and also very funny. It very much reminds me of Cronenberg at his finest with its coming of age body horror tale concerning a vegetarian trainee vet that gets a taste for flesh. Everything about the film is outstanding, and that goes for Jim Williams score.
You may have heard his work in A FIELD IN ENGLAND and SIGHTSEERS, but RAW sees him breakthrough to a wider audience with a score that will easily sit high inside many top ten lists come the end of 2017. Williams mixes mellow acoustic tracks filled with violin and piano that are serene and beautiful with huge baroque organ led tracks that are intense and powerful. From the minute I saw RAW in 2016 I knew we had to release the soundtrack on vinyl. I’d like to thank Focus Features & Back Lot Music for letting us partner with them on this release, and the amazing Candice Tripp for absolutely nailing the artwork.
Maybe you haven't seen Raw yet and you're thinking, "How do I know if the Raw soundtrack is right for me?" Well, fair enough. But give the following excerpt a whirl and tell me this isn't something you need at your disposal.
See? This is a slam dunk, purchase, folks, and it'll be available for pre-order this Friday at 12PM (CST) over at the Mondo website. You guys gonna pick this one up or what?
Reminder: you absolutely need to see Raw as soon as possible...which'd be this weekend, at the Alamo Drafthouse. Tickets are available here.
