Amy Schumer Has Dropped Out Of The BARBIE Movie

It's your classic case of scheduling conflicts.

According to Variety, comedian Amy Schumer has officially dropped out of Sony's live-action Barbie movie, a project was set to rewrite in addition to starring in. The cause? Scheduling conflicts.

Says Schumer:

“Sadly, I’m no longer able to commit to Barbie due to scheduling conflicts. The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I’m bummed, but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen.”

So, what's keeping Schumer so busy? In addition to a promotional tour for Snatched (the raunchy adventure-comedy she'll co-headline with Goldie Hawn in June), she'll also be shooting something called She Came To Me with Steve Carell shortly thereafter. Something had to give, and it sounds like Barbie drew the short straw.

Oh, well! Guess this means the search is on for someone else who can fill Barbie's (whatever kind of shoes Barbie wears go here), seeing as how that project still has a June 29, 2018 release date to hit. Expect to hear some casting news on that front shortly.
