Aaron Sorkin May Bring His Chatty Brand Of Screenwriting To The Superhero Genre

Report suggests both the MCU and the DCU are hot for Sorkin.

According to an exclusive report over at ComicBook.com, Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is currently being pursued by both Marvel and DC to do some writing on one of their big, upcoming superhero properties. The news was revealed by Sorkin himself, who dropped the news while working the red carpet at Las Vegas' CinemaCon.

Said Sorkin:

“I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel. I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book. It’s not that I don’t like them. It’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one. So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m gonna wanna go back and start reading from the first issue on.”

It's hard to imagine, isn't it? Aaron Sorkin, writing an ... I dunno, a Superman movie? A super-chatty Swamp Thing? Allowing Daredevil to have painfully witty walk-and-talks in all those hallways, rather than just beating up goons inside them? He's a talented dude, to be sure, but we're honestly having trouble imagining what this might look (and sound!) like in practice.

There's nothing further to go on at this time, nor is there any guarantee that either of the meetings Sorkin's set to attend will pan out into an actual movie (and/or TV series). But we'll keep you informed, should any updates occur on that front.

In the meantime: if you had to pick one comic property for Aaron Sorkin to tackle, what would it be? Sound off in the comments below.
