Will Ferrell Brings A DEADLY ADOPTION To ATX Television Festival
As a lifetime Lifetime fan, there could have been no better surprise than A Deadly Adoption, the Lifetime television movie produced by Will Ferrell and starring Ferrell and Kristen Wiig. In 2015, the dead-serious tale of adoption horror - a very prevalent theme in the Lifetime universe - aired on the network, and now ATX Television Festival is giving us the chance to watch it once more, on the big screen, with Ferrell and EPs Andrew Steele and Jessica Elbaum in attendance.
From the press release:
The film, which Rolling Stone Magazine called “a glorious love letter” to the genre, and the New York Times confusingly admitted, “was either a brilliant example of deadpan humor or a mediocre Lifetime Movie,” aired on Lifetime for one week in 2015, and is no longer available (legally) on any platform. This marks the second time only it will be shown on a big screen format without commercials.
A Deadly Adoption will be the opening late night screening of ATX, and what a refreshingly weird choice it is! ATX Television Festival runs June 8-11 in Austin and you can (and should!) still procure badges. Other programming this year will include Parks and Recreation, Alias, Northern Exposure, Girls, Pretty Little Liars and more!
