Jeffrey Dean Morgan Will Battle Giant Monsters In RAMPAGE

Presumably not with his trusty baseball bat.

According to a new report over at Deadline, The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan has signed on to the already-sprawling cast of Brad Peyton's Rampage, based on the classic arcade game of the same name. Y'know, the one with big-ass monsters punching buildings and whatnot.

What will Morgan be doing in the film? Glad you asked:

Rampage‘s exact logline is under wraps, but like the 1980s Midway arcade game on which it is based, the central conflict comes down to this: There are three giant monsters wreaking havoc across North America – and Johnson is the only hope of stopping them. Morgan will play Agent Russell, who works for a covert government division called OGA and rolls with serious swagger and attitude.

So far, Peyton's film has already roped in a ton of performers, including The Rock, Naomie Harris, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, Jack Quaid, and Morgan's Watchmen co-star, Malin Akerman. It will also feature three ginormous monsters, but we remain unclear on whether any of the above actors will be playing those roles (probably they'll be played by a bunch of pixels, but don't tell me you wouldn't wanna see a giant Werewolf being played by Joe Manganiello).

Nothing further to report at this time, but there's surely plenty more to come: Rampage doesn't arrive until April 20, 2018. Stay tuned between now and then for updates.
