My impression is that a lot of us - even those of us who count ourselves amongst Aziz Ansari's legion of fans - were caught off guard by how great Master Of None's first season was. Painfully honest, poignant, and with a finale that legitimately upended our expectations, the series was a breath of fresh air when it arrived back in November of 2015, and we've been waiting for the show's follow-up season ever since.
Well, good news: we won't be waiting much longer.
Yes, Master Of None returns in just a matter of weeks, and if this trailer's any indication, it's going to be just as beautifully shot as the first season (it's probably also safe to assume the show will have just as much heart and humor, but of course we'll need to see it in action before we confirm that).
Here's an official, if not entirely forthcoming, plot synopsis:
After traveling abroad, Dev (Aziz Ansari) returns to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.
We're pumped to see where things go in season two (after that season one finale, there's no telling what curveballs it might throw at us), and we will be there day one when Master Of None returns to Netflix on May 12th. How 'bout you guys?
