Here's an interesting thing that just popped up on Twitter via the Alien: Covenant feed:
Well, well, well. What do we have here?
For starters, it's an X-ray image of Daniels (Katherine Waterston). Why Daniels' X-ray would also include her eyeballs is, perhaps, a mystery best answered by the person who put this image together, but let's not get hung up on nitpicking ... especially not when there's something so much more interesting to talk about.
Namely: what's that thing in the center of Daniels' chest? To my eyes, that looks a lot like a new kind of Chestburster. We already know we're going to see such a creature in Alien: Covenant thanks to one of the film's very first trailers ...
...but is this the Backburster? I'm not convinced. Could also just be an evolved (or devolved, depending on how you want to look at it) form of the classic Chestburster. We also know there are classic Xenomorphs in Alien: Covenant, so maybe that's what this is.
In either case, that does not look like the classic Chestburster, so ... what do you guys think it is? Has someone in marketing taken artistic license? An all-new breed? Doesn't it look like there's a little Engineer in there, as well? Very curious. Speculate your asses off in the comments below.
Alien: Covenant arrives on May 19th. We'd already be in line for it if it wouldn't get us arrested for vagrancy.
