Arnold Schwarzenegger Explains Why He Won’t Be In THE PREDATOR

“They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it."

In a new interview with Yahoo! Movies, national treasure and frequent Trump-humilator Arnold Schwarzenegger explains - with a remarkable amount of candor - why he won't be appearing in Shane Black's The Predator.

Asked if he's involved with the film "in any way", Arnold replies:

"They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it — whatever they offered. So I’m not going to do that, no. Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won’t do that."

The good folks over at AVPGalaxy.net have a pretty good theory as to what Arnold might be getting at here:

From what information Alien vs. Predator Galaxy has been able to obtain from the supposed leaked script, Dutch appeared at the very end of the script for a very short cameo with a few lines that sets up a sequel.

This is the first we're hearing of a leaked The Predator script (holla at ya boi if you happen to know where such a thing might be found), but assuming the above theory is correct: what a bummer! It would've been thrilling to see Schwarzenegger's Dutch onscreen again, and doubly so if it were meant to set up a more Dutch-centric sequel.

Oh, well. We're reasonably confident The Predator will do just fine without Schwarzenegger's involvement, whatever that might have been, and we're still eagerly anticipating its arrival on February 9th of next year (that's less than a year away!).

Stay tuned for more on The Predator as it becomes available.
