As we learned a few months ago, Alison Brie is currently working with Netflix on a brand-new series based on G.L.O.W. (The Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling). If you're thinking, "Gee, Scott, you're probably not the right Birth.Movies.Death. staff member to be writing about G.L.O.W.", you are right, and yet here we are.
Today, we got our first look at the series, which will hit the streaming giant this summer. If the pictures don't immediately make it apparent, be aware that G.L.O.W. takes place in the '80s, a time period which this series seems to have captured perfectly.
In addition to Brie, the series also stars Britt Baron, Kimmy Gatewood, Rebekkah Johnson, Kate Nash, and Marc Maron (of all people), and revolves around Brie's character joining the world of women's wrestling (Maron, according to one of our previous posts on the matter, plays a “washed up director who has a very complicated history with women").
As mentioned before, all ten episodes of G.L.O.W. will arrive on Netflix this summer. Y'all think you're gonna check it out or what?
