Mondo Reveals The First Details For MondoCon 2017

It's baaaaack (and it's in a brand-new location).

Here in Austin, winter is long gone, SXSW is behind us, the birds are chirping and summer quickly approaches. You know what that means: it's time to announce this year's MondoCon. And, oh boy, what an announcement it is.

Read this press release.

Mondo is pleased to announce early-bird tickets are on sale for the fourth annual MondoCon along with an initial lineup of exhibitors and artists. MondoCon 2017 will take place November 4th and 5th, 2017 inside the Austin American-Statesman building located at 305 S. Congress Avenue in downtown Austin, TX.

MondoCon is a celebration of everything Mondo loves, including movies, art, comics, music, toys and food. It's a weekend curated with fans in mind, featuring incredible artists and creators from around the world, panels, screenings, food trucks, live score and interactive events.

"For our fourth annual MondoCon, we really wanted to enhance the fan experience and our connection to the city of Austin,” said Mondo Managing Director Justin Brookhart. “We're so excited to find a new home at the Austin American-Statesman building. We'll be taking over the space that used to house all their old printing presses and think it is going to create a truly unique environment for the weekend's activities.

“This year, we're thrilled to be hosting our evening screenings at the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar. The Lamar Drafthouse was home to Mondo for many years and we are so glad we can offer our fans the opportunity to enjoy a film in the world's greatest theater.

“As for what to expect this year, we'll be bringing out more amazing artists, panels, and products to accompany a weekend of eating awesome food, drinking great beer, and hanging with amazing people.”

Yes, this year MondoCon is expanding to not only a much bigger location, but a single location. And on top of that, they'll be holding their speciality screenings at the nearby South Lamar Alamo Drafthouse! MondoCon's been crushing it for the past few years, but this ... this is excellent news!

In addition to said excellent news, Team Mondo's also put together this nifty little trailer:

Early Bird 2-Day Tickets ($89) are on sale now via the MondoCon website, but be aware that they're only available in a limited quantity. If you want in on that deal, you're gonna have to act fast, so head on over there and get your badge locked in now if you already know you're coming. Later this summer, single day badges (one for Saturday, one for Sunday) will be made available for $50 each, so the Early Bird badge offers a little savings ... and, of course, a little piece of mind.

Stay tuned for more on this year's MondoCon as it becomes available. As always, I will be on-hand at MondoCon 2017 to conduct some interviews, take in the sites, drink way too much beer and spend way too much money.

You guys coming with or what?
