Guillermo Del Toro’s THE SHAPE OF WATER Gets A Release Date

You gotta click through to find out what it is. This is one of those posts.

According to the good folks at The Playlist, Guillermo del Toro's The Shape Of Water - one of our most highly-anticipated films of the year - has finally been given a release date.

Take it away, Playlist tweet:

Hell yes. Even if everything else goes horribly, disastrously wrong over the next eight months, we've still got a brand-new Guillermo del Toro movie to look forward to. And it's got ya boi Michael Shannon in it!

Here's a very brief synopsis, via Wikipedia:

An other-worldly story, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. Elisa, a janitor (Sally Hawkins) in a government facility falls in love with an aquatic man (Doug Jones) who is being held captive for testing.

Alright, so, admittedly, we don't have much to go on with this one just yet, but word on the street is that The Shape Of Water will find del Toro riffing in Creature From The Black Lagoon territory (and you know we're down for that).

Stay tuned for more on The Shape Of Water as we inch ever closer to the film's December 8th release date.
