Composer Podcast: Michael Wandmacher Scores UNDERWORLD: BLOOD WARS

Michael Wandmacher howls at the chance to score the latest installment of UNDERWORLD

Hold on to your mutts, we’ve got another behind-the-score podcast interview to premiere. This time around, veteran interviewer Tony Giles chats in depth with Michael Wandmacher, composer of the latest lycanthrope action/thriller Underworld: Blood Wars (2016). I’ve enjoyed Wandmacher’s work in past films including The Last Exorcism Part II (2013), Drive Angry (2011), Piranha 3D (2010), and My Bloody Valentine (2009). I’m anxious to see what he does this time around in the continuing Underworld saga. Wandmacher admits in the interview he’s a huge fan of the series which, although it isn’t a requirement for good scoring, always seems to be a bonus when a composer adds their own personal passion to the project.

As usual, Giles asks some particularly intriguing questions and guides us through the underworld of Wandmacher’s scoring process, approach to the series, and thoughts on film music in general.

The soundtrack is currently available on iTunes and other digital music retailers.

Enjoy!
