The CG remake of The Lion King is filling out more of its cast. The Jon Favreau film already boasts Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones’ return as Mufasa, and now it’s starting to work on those pesky side characters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, two of those roles are about to be filled. Seth Rogan is in talks to play Pumbaa and Billy Eichner is in talks to play Timon. I don’t know which one is which, and I’m not looking it up.
But you can easily picture how these guys would sound in these roles. Having enjoyed what Favreau managed to do with The Jungle Book, I have to admit some curiosity about how this will turn out. I can’t wait to see the trailer and probably just the trailer.
Now the next big one is Scar. Who could possibly be better than Jeremy Irons?
