Normally we don't bother with these teaser-for-a-trailer things. They're obnoxious, they rarely get us legitimately excited, and - if one exercises just a modicum of patience - they are often replaced within hours with a full trailer, which is always more satisfying.
But this is Blade Runner 2049 we're talking about.
So, first of all: I guess "See The Official Trailer In 3 Days" settles it - that mysterious livestream event happening on Monday will almost certainly be accompanied by the new Blade Runner 2049 trailer. Last we heard, that clip was going to debut in front of Alien: Covenant on the 19th, but I guess they're not willing to wait that long. That's the sort of impatience we can get behind.
As for the footage itself: there's only about 10 seconds worth of new footage here, but we're into every last frame of it. The big-ass buildings, Gosling's glower, that weird-ass nightclub, Gosling going HAM on some chumps inside...well, we're not sure what that is, but it appears to be in the same general location where Gosling's K encounters Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard (that's Vegas, by the way).
What do you guys think? Are you as excited about this one as we are? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for more Blade Runner 2049 hijinks on Monday.
