Hopefully all of you did the right thing yesterday and called your mom, wished her well, sent flowers, and/or took her out for a nice meal to celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day. Darren Aronofsky went a step further and delivered a present for all the mommas of the world in the form of a new one sheet (rendered by the great James Jean) for his latest picture, mother!, which hits theaters this Fall.

That’s one hell of a selling image for a movie we don’t know a whole lot about thus far. Starring Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem (alongside Ed Harris, Kristen Wiig and Michelle Pfeiffer), the movie fits firmly into the horror genre (by Aronofsky’s own admission) and revolves around a couple that’s sent into downward spiral following an unannounced houseguest’s arrival. Beyond that, we’re going to have to wait until October 13th to find out more. Here’s hoping a little genre film fest in Austin gets a peek at it before then.
