Bob Odenkirk And David Cross Are Going To Be In A Steven Spielberg Movie

Which basically makes THE PAPERS a RUN RONNIE RUN sequel.

Exciting news via Variety: a number of very talented performers have just joined Steven Spielberg's The Papers, two of which are national treasures Bob Odenkirk and David Cross.

Here's the news:

Sarah Paulson, Bob Odenkirk, Matthew Rhys, Bradley Whitford, Carrie Coon, Jesse Plemons, David Cross, Alison Brie, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Zach Woods have joined the ensemble of Steven Spielberg’s The Papers, which already stars Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep. The film centers on the Washington Post’s decision to publish the classified Pentagon Papers in 1971.

Good lord, what a lineup! In addition to the aforementioned Mr. Show veterans, you've also got Sarah Paulson, Bradley Whitford, Alison Brie, the great Zach Woods...I suppose I shouldn't bother restating the same names you literally just read in that pull-quote, but it's hard not to get excited by this cast! Still not super enthusiastic about the subject matter, maybe, but if anything's gonna get me into a theater to see a movie about the Pentagon Papers, it's this cast working under this director. Good lord.

The Papers will arrive in theaters this December in a short, awards-qualifying theatrical run before going wide on January 12th, 2018. Here's hoping Spielberg works a Pit-Pat cameo in there somewhere.
