CULT OF CHUCKY Trailer Brings The Whole Gang Back Together

He’s back! And there are... more of him?

Can I just tell you how much I love the Child’s Play series? Even the bad ones. It’s not so much that I love Chucky - though I do kind of love him - but rather the way Don Mancini has taken this thing and mutated it from horror to all-out camp and then back to horror but with the added bonus of weird universe-building along the way. He's getting so much more mileage from this concept than anyone had any right to expect.

That’s front in center in the first trailer for Cult of Chucky:

Right off the bat, we have Andy (played by the original Alex Vincent) making an appearance after his brief cameo in Curse of Chucky. We also have the continuation of Nica’s (Fiona Dourif) story from the last film and an appearance by Jennifer Tilly, who also popped up in Curse. If we’re really lucky, this’ll play out kind of like the last five minutes of Curse but stretched out to feature length. I am for it!

But even if that’s not what happens, I’m still excited to see Don Mancini make another Chucky movie. I’m not 100% sure what’s going on with the plot here or how Chucky (or Chuckies?) can be back after the end of Curse, but I can’t wait to find out this October.
