NEW MUTANTS Loses A Dawson But Gains A Braga

Bad news and good news regarding Fox’s upcoming New Mutants. The bad news is Rosario Dawson will not be in the film after all. For reasons that have not yet been disclosed, she has left the project. Possibly once she read the script and realized this was not a Netflix jam.

The good news is that she has already been replaced. Dr. Cecilia Reyes will now be played by Alice Braga, who you might recognize from Queen of the South, Elysium or I am Legend.

I say this is good news/bad news, but that all depends on the performance the film gets from Braga vs the hypothetical performance we’ll never get to see from Dawson. So I actually have no idea what the fuck I’m talking about. What am I even doing here?

New Mutants will also star Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams and Charlie Heaton and will be directed by Josh Boone.
