Trent Reznor Announces Another New Nine Inch Nails EP: ADD VIOLENCE
Trent Reznor, Oscar-winning composer and frontman of The Nine Inch Nails, appeared on Beats 1 Radio this morning to make good on a promise he'd made in the not-so-distant past: NIN's releasing another EP, Add Violence, and it's arriving later this month. July 21st, to be precise.
This will be the second in a planned series of EPs for the band, a trilogy that started at the end of last year with Not The Actual Events. The material on that album presented what seemed like a return to NIN's violently angry early sound, but the song Reznor debuted on Beats 1 this morning - "Less Than" - sounds markedly different than anything on that album. It's poppy and fast, very obviously a single.
Here's the video:
Anyway, between Not The Actual Events, Add Violence, the release of The Fragile Deviations 1, the band's incredible performance on Twin Peaks, a forthcoming string of tour dates, and Reznor's longtime associate Atticus Ross officially joining the band, it's a helluva year to be a Nine Inch Nails fan (perhaps the best since 1999, when we got the one-two punch of the Fragility tour and The Fragile).
Stay tuned for more on Reznor's ongoing hijinks as further information becomes available.
