A while back, we celebrated the news that Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson was stepping up to direct the pilot for Hulu's Locke And Key adaptation. Well, that recently fell apart: turns out, Derrickson's super busy with the Snowpiercer pilot he's directing for TNT, and had to pass on the gig.
Well, according to Empire Online, a replacement's already been found: Andy Muschietti, director of Warner Bros.' forthcoming It adaptation. The plan is for the pilot to shoot this year, which seems to indicate that Muschietti won't be immediately jumping into the long-gestating-but-still-not-announced second It movie.
We loved Derrickson for Locke And Key, so how do we feel about Muschietti? Again, feels like a solid choice. And if the buzz around It is to be believed, Hulu may have scored quite the coup bringing Muschietti onboard.
Stay tuned for more on Locke And Key (and It) as further updates become available.
