Ron Howard has been on the job over in Star Wars Town for nearly a month now, and already he's transformed the franchise's online presence from a barely-noticeable trickle into a throbbing 24-hour party.
Coming to you straight from the set of a Han Solo movie so hip it doesn't even need a title, here's an Instagram shot of (presumably) Lando Calrissian's wardrobe:
Furthering the Instagram story is this shot of Howard, swathed in on-set darkness, directing what appears to be Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian:
Howard abandoned his native Instagram for the stuffier climes of Twitter to post this photo; it's got Lando again, but also a nifty rear-projection setup enveloping the Millennium Falcon cockpit set.
Hyperspace is real. My first experience. Wow. pic.twitter.com/POilRi5ePX— Ron Howard (@RealRonHoward) July 19, 2017
What can we take away from these photos? For starters, Ron Howard is, in fact, at work directing the Han Solo film. Additionally, Donald Glover is still in the movie, sporting brightly-coloured garb that would make even Eggsy Unwin jealous. Perhaps the biggest takeaway, though, is the amount of time Howard is spending directing in a tiny cockpit set. That's got to be a tough gig, even if you aren't taking over from other directors mid-shoot.
Ron Howard's Han Solo Movie will hit cinemas in May next year. Until then, Ron Howard's Instagram is the feel-good hit of the summer.
