Cara Delevingne Crushes Our Hearts, Won’t Return For SUICIDE SQUAD 2
Cara Delevingne may have been the secret weapon of Suicide Squad, but she was also the secret villain, and that means she had to be defeated at the end of the movie. Specifically, her heart got crushed, which isn't even a good feeling when it happens metaphorically.
Sequels happen, though: Jaume Collet-Serra is expected to shoot one next year, starring the whole squad, minus Slipknot, the man who can climb anything.* Also minus Enchantress, according to Delevingne (via USA Today), who says she's "pretty sure" she won't return for the sequel:
"It was a life-changing experience and of course I’d do another one, but I don’t think it would make sense for the character. [...] I’ll probably still be on the set hanging out with everyone."
Look, I'll be completely honest here. Delevingne's absence, though expected, drastically reduces any interest I had in seeing this movie, even if she sticks around as some sort of on-set morale officer. Suicide Squad was mostly a big ol' pile of poo, but Delevingne was among the cast members who kept the film watchable. Hell, her eyebrows alone made up for at least 10% of the bad editing. Each.
Meanwhile, help me justify the concentration required to spell "Delevingne" this many times, and go see her in something weird and fun this weekend.
* RIP Slipknot, the man who can climb anything.
