LICENSE TO DRIVE Is Getting A Gender-Swapped Remake
Here's the news, according to Deadline:
"License To Drive, the comedy that starred the two Coreys (Haim and Feldman) and a young Heather Graham in 1988, is being rebooted with female leads thanks to producer John Davis and 20th Century Fox."
This is just the latest '80s comedy to be given the gender-swapped remake treatment (following last year's Ghostbusters and next year's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels redux), but something tells me the Bros will not be out in full force over this one.
For one thing, License To Drive is only mid-tier Corey² material (just above Dream A Little Dream and well below The Lost Boys). For another, I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of this remake's audience has never even heard of License To Drive, full stop. Could be wrong, but License To Drive feels like a title that entirely missed this generation.
Guess we'll find out! In the meantime, what do you think the odds are of Corey Feldman and Heather Graham putting in cameo appearances? I'm gonna lean a hard "Very Unlikely" on the former and a "Yeah, I guess that might happen" on the latter (bonus points if Graham plays the mother of one of the two female leads, which would make this one of those rebootquel situations everyone loves so much). Sound off in the comments below!
