NARCOS’ Pedro Pascal Just Joined The Sequel To THE EQUALIZER
Maybe you'd forgotten, what with everything else that's been going on in the world, that Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua are gearing up to make a sequel to 2014's The Equalizer.
Allow the following casting news (straight from THR) to put that little project back on your radar:
"Sony's The Equalizer sequel has added Narcos actor Pedro Pascal to the cast.
Denzel Washington is returning to star in the follow-up to the 2014 film, which follows a retired black ops government operative who believes he has escaped his past until he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters and can't help but save her."
Now, if I remember correctly, that's the plot of the original Equalizer, and will likely not be repeated in The Equalizer 2. I mean, I suppose they could go that route, but that'd be an odd choice. Chances are it'll involve Denzel equalizing a bunch of other bad guys, probably so hard that they die, and probably while remaining exceptionally calm (if he can do it while setting booby traps in a hardware store, even better).
Anyway, Pedro Pascal joining this one is good news, as anyone who's seen Narcos can tell you. We're hyped he's joined the cast and look forward to seeing who else this one ropes in.
The Equalizer 2 should be gearing up to film very soon, as it has a September 14th, 2018 release date to meet. Stay tuned for more on this one as it becomes available.
