The Alamo Drafthouse Is Doing A Clown Screening Of IT

Austin's gonna float so hard.

As we learned yesterday, the Alamo Drafthouse has a ton of awesome stuff planned for the release of Andy Muschietti's It, including brand-new collectible pins from Mondo and a super-sized Stephen King issue of Birth.Movies.Death. magazine. But that's not all! Today, we're excited to announce a special "Clown Screening" of Muschietti's film, to be held at the Austin, TX Mueller location on Saturday, September 9th.

It's...well, it's precisely what you think it is.

"For this special screening of IT, all attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend. Please arrive early and join us in the Barrel O' Fun beginning at 5:30pm for an IT pre-party where we will have face-painters available for clown "touch-ups", a photo booth, raffles for prizes, and other terrifying merriment. Please arrive in your own Pennywise best and be ready to float with us."

Yes, we're going to pack an entire theater full of clowns and watch Warner Bros.' brand-new Stephen King adaptation. As noted above, there'll be face-painters and prizes and oh my god just imagine how many red balloons are gonna be floating around that joint. For Stephen King fans, for horror nerds, and for just good ol' everyday clowning enthusiasts, this is the craziest screening of It you can attend on opening weekend. And we want all of you to come with us!

Head on over to this link to pick up your tickets to the screening. Once that's out of the way, you can start ironing your clown costumes and shining your big-ass clown shoes. You want to look good for Pennywise, don't you?

See you folks on the 9th!
