Sam Rockwell Is Going To Play George W. Bush, Because Sometimes Good Stuff Happens

But will he dance?

In what can only be considered the greatest thing to happen in 2017 thus far, The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that Sam Rockwell will play former president George W. Bush in Adam McKay's forthcoming Dick Cheney biopic, Cheney.

Rockwell joins the already-cast Christian Bale (onboard to play the titular former-VP), Steve Carell (playing Donald Rumsfeld) and Amy Adams (Lynne Cheney). Bill Pullman's also been cast in this thing, but we're not entirely clear who he's playing at this point.

The Hollywood Reporter describes the biopic (a drama, believe it or not) thusly:

"Bale is portraying Cheney in the story of him avoiding military serve in the Vietnam War, his rise to CEO of the multinational corporation Halliburton, to finally becoming what some have called as the most powerful vice president ever to hold that office."

None of these actors look like the real people that they'll be playing in Cheney, which raises some interesting questions about what McKay's approach is going to be here. Elaborate prosthetics? A shrug towards matching physical appearances? We kind of don't care, because this cast combined with that director on this subject matter is flat-out explosive, and we can't wait to see what he does with it.

We'll be keeping a close eye on Cheney as it develops. Until then, please post your favorite "Sam Rockwell Dancing" gifs in the comments below to celebrate this wondrous news.
