Syd Mead is one of those cinematic craftspeople who quietly shaped the look and feel of a half-century of genre films. Many science fiction classics have his fingerprints, while others are possessed with the spirit of his work.

Mead spent years crafting architectural design work for real-world clients before setting his gift onto realizing the cinematic futurescapes of many genre classics. Blade Runner, TRON, 2010, Short Circuit, Aliens, Time Cop, Johnny Mnemonic, Mission: Impossible 3, and Elysium all boast his unique vision, and his influence extends right up to Hollywood's upcoming production slate.
