Well, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but now it's officially official: the sequel to Andy Muschietti's It hits theaters on September 6th, 2019. According to Deadline, the official title for the It sequel is It: Chapter Two. That's nice and all, Warner Bros., but that's not gonna stop us from calling it It 2: Dat Boi Is Back In Town.
As you surely know by now, It: Chapter Two will tell the second half of Stephen King's iconic tale. The film will be set in present day, and revolve around the now-adult Losers' Club getting the gang back together to take on Pennywise The Dancing Clown one last time. No spoilers, but some of 'em might not make it out alive this time.
As of this writing, none of the adult Losers have been cast, but rumors persist that Jessica Chastain is all but signed on to play the all-grown-up version of Beverly Marsh. With all due respect to Chastain, she's got some big shoes to fill - Sophia Lillis absolutely crushed it in It: Chapter One (side-bar: given the naming convention, do we now have to start referring to It as It: Chapter One? Side-bar #2: how cool is it going to be to have both of these films in a boxed set one day?).
Stay tuned for more updates than you can handle on It: Chapter Two as they continue to roll in.
