Real talk? Some members of the BMD staff have gone back and forth on their excitement for Hulu's forthcoming Castle Rock series, largely because we're still not entirely sure how the show's going to work in practice. Will this show be playing with real-deal, hardcore King mythology or will that mostly be background noise, the jumping-off point to a whole new universe of King-related characters?
The official description says Castle Rock is a "first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories," so it sounds like it'll be somewhere in the middle...oh, well: no matter how you cut it, we're intrigued.
And now we have a new trailer. It's light on dialogue but overflowing with atmosphere, so much so that we can't help but feel hyped all over again. Check this out:
Yeah, we're not sure what all this imagery adds up to (holy shit was that an alligator?!), but we're definitely digging the tone, and it certainly looks like Abrams and company spared no expense bringing this show to life. And this cast! My god, this thing is overflowing with MVPs. We're curious to see what they've come up with.
Which brings us to the bad news: Castle Rock won't get here until next year. Looks like we're still waiting on an official arrival date, and as soon as we hear more - or as soon as another worthwhile update comes along - we'll let ya know.
What do you folks thing of the trailer? Digging it as much as we are?
