Last night, CBS revealed the first trailer for Michael Jackson's Halloween Special via their official Twitter handle, and it's...well, we're not quite sure what to make of this.

Let's take a look.

According to Deadline, Michael Jackson's Halloween Special was created by Optimum Productions, "the Michael Jackson company now owned by his estate", and tells the story of...

"...millennials Vincent and Victoria, who meet “accidentally” on Halloween night and find themselves, along with Ichabod the dog, at a mysterious hotel located at 777 Jackson Street called This Place Hotel. Once inside, Vincent and Victoria are sent on an unexpected, magical adventure of personal discovery, culminating in a spectacular dance finale featuring an animated Michael Jackson."

Look, in this household, there is only one Michael Jackson Halloween Special. It's called "The video for Thriller", and you can watch it on YouTube whenever you want. Sure, the Thriller video doesn't feature a dog named Ichabod, but it does feature a spectacular dance finale featuring a (re)animated Michael Jackson, as well as an extended Vincent Price vocal cameo (compared to, say, an extended Jim Parsons vocal cameo). And it was directed by John Landis.

Y'know what, let's all rewatch the Thriller video now.

Yup, still great.

The Michael Jackson Halloween Special, which may or may not be more ghoulish than the Thriller video, hits CBS on October 27th. You'll be binge-watching the new Stranger Things when it airs and will have to catch the highlights on social media the next day.
