Renee Zellweger (Jerry Maguire) is going to star as Judy Garland in a new picture about the Wizard of Oz legend's final London concerts.
Titled Judy, the film is set in London '68. Judy Garland is 47, exhausted, and wanting to be home with her family, making it look like her shows at the Talk of the Town nightclub may not go on. But as we all know, the show must...*I apologize profusely for stooping this low*
Written by The Crown's Tom Edge, British stage director and Tony nominee Rupert Goold (True Story) is set to direct, and the movie is said to contain performances of Garland's best-known songs. So, Zellweger better warm them Chicago pipes up, as she's going to be belting out some tunes for us to enjoy.
No word on a release date as of yet, but production is slated to start in February. We'll keep you up to date.
