There’s been a rumor swirling for a little while now that Jessica Chastain may be reuniting with Mama director Andy Muschietti for IT: Chapter II (playing Grown Ass Beverly Marsh, of course). But we haven’t really heard anything officially stated on Chastain’s part.
Well, it looks like the actress (who’s now doing press for Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming gambling thriller, Molly’s Game) also thinks it’d be a great idea for her to battle Dat Boi Pennywise, as when she spoke with Screen Rant recently, she dropped this nugget:
“Well, I love Andy and Barbara [Muschietti]. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so… We’ll see… Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.”
There's a line of thinking that a movie star of this caliber could be distracting when adapting the second half of King's Derry opus (which revolves around an adult Losers' Club returning home to fight Pennywise), but seeing Chastain (who may have an Oscar in tow thanks to Molly's Game) in this epic tale would be a treat if it came to pass.
What do you think? Great idea or put this shit in the Pipe?
