SWEET VIRGINIA Trailer Is Overcast And Violent

This weekend, Jon Bernthal is going to be slipping on the skull to take down a bunch of bad guys in Netflix's The Punisher, but he also has an intriguing bit of pulp fiction dropping on VOD.

Sweet Virginia revolves around an ex-rodeo rider (Bernthal) who strikes up a friendship with a young man (Christopher Abbott) who may be behind the violence occurring in their small town. From the looks of the trailer, Jamie Dagg's thriller is a rather dark and stormy affair:

That's two minutes of nefarious whispers, gun violence, and chilly weather. Co-starring Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married) and Imogen Poots (Green Room), this intense, austere potboiler seems to be in the vein of Jeremy Saulnier's work (Blue Ruin, Green Room).
