The Birth.Movies.Death. staff is excited for all kinds of things in December - the arrival of Guillermo del Toro's The Shape Of Water, Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the opportunity to spend yet another holiday shouting about politics with our in-laws - but one project we're particularly hyped about is Netflix's Wormwood, which hits the streaming service on December 15th.
The latest from documentarian/living legend Errol Morris, Wormwood weaves a mysterious, shadowy tale about the CIA, mind control, hallucinogenics, and what may well have been a government-sanctioned murder. Right up our alley!
Here's a brand-new trailer:
Government conspiracies? MK Ultra? Morris using every trick in his playbook (and maybe a few new ones?) across six full episodes? Oh, yes. This is definitely what we're gonna be doing the minute we get home from seeing The Last Jedi.
Here's an official synopsis:
"This six-part series explores the limits of our knowledge about the past and the lengths we'll go in our search for the truth. A family story of one man's sixty-year quest to identify the circumstances of his father's mysterious death. A quest which brings him face-to-face with some of the darkest secrets of the United States."
Yup. We're all in for Wormwood when it lands in theaters and on December 15th. How 'bout you folks?
