Open Thread: Are You Excited About Another JURASSIC PARK?

Let's talk about that teaser trailer.

Last night, Universal dropped the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It's one of those 15-second jobs, a slice of a full-length trailer that'll be arriving later in the week (Thursday, if you'd like to mark your calendars).

Before we go on, let's all take a look at it.

For those keeping score at home, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be the fifth film in the Jurassic Park series, and - as is so often the case with these things - this franchise's batting average only seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I watched that teaser for Fallen Kingdom ("Oh, good, people in a field are in the middle of another dinosaur stampede"), and suddenly I understood the apathy of everyone who shrugged at the trailers for Alien: Covenant.

This morning, the BMD crew got to talking about the latest Jurassic Park movie, and our reactions run the gamut from "I feel nothing" to "Dino Volcano is not working for me" to "I'll be excited enough about this for all of us". We are divided, in other words, and now we're curious to know where you stand on this series.

Are you legitimately hyped for another Jurassic Park? Did you enjoy Jurassic World? Do you believe this franchise is firmly in the land of diminishing returns? Are you a dinosaur enthusiast, which renders such realities irrelevant? Let's talk about it in the comments below, and stay tuned for the full Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer on Thursday. The film itself (directed by J.A. Bayona) arrives on June 22nd.
