EDDIE THE EAGLE Director Dexter Fletcher To Finish BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

The Queen biopic has found somebody to love it (and make sure it lands in the editing bay).

Why it was just the other day that we were reporting the firing of Bryan Singer from his Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. Singer had virtually abandoned the production (citing caring for a "sick parent" as his excuse) following the Thanksgiving holiday, causing it to shut down on December 1st. By December 4th, he was canned by 20th Century Fox.

The most shocking part of that story - aside from Singer's alleged numerous confrontations with star Rami Malek - was that Bohemian Rhapsody was apparently only weeks away from wrapping principal photography. Well now Fox has a replacement - Eddie the Eagle director Dexter Fletcher - to fill in and bring the production home. Shooting is expected to resume next week.

No word on how directorial credit is going to work on Bohemian Rhapsody as of yet (as it'll be interesting to see just what percentage of the picture is shot/reshot under Fletcher's supervision), but Fox is still looking to release the movie on Christmas Day 2018. I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more about the project - not to mention the many BTS struggles - between now and then.
