The Halloween reboot/sequel David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are masterminding - which we should really just start calling H40 - is coming together, piece-by-piece. Though they're still playing the picture's many plot surprises close to the vest, we're getting glimpses of who will be the victims of Michael Myers' latest rampage through casting.
We already know Jamie Lee Curtis is coming back as Laurie Strode, and Judy Greer (Arrested Development) is being locked down for her daughter, Karen. Now, relative newcomer Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New Black) has been cast as Karen's daughter, Allyson, giving us three generations of Strode Women in Green and McBride's Halloween.
This is not meant as any offense to Matichak, but what's most intriguing about her casting isn't so much the actress herself, but the fact that Green and McBride are focusing so heavily on women thus far. They're putting together a veritable family tree of Strodes, without any men to speak of - a lineage of potential Final Girls. Once you take that into account, the next question becomes: who will survive and what will be left of them?
We'll just have to find out on October 19, 2018.
